What store owners complain about in attribution tools
In public reviews and threads from 2023 to 2026, store owners repeat the same complaints about attribution tools: billing and contracts, numbers that changed no decision, ad platforms claiming more sales than the shop took, and support that goes quiet after the sale. Below are the themes with the merchants' own words, each linked to where it was written.
Last checked 4 November 2026. Every quote is 35 words or fewer, checked word for word against its page on 4 November 2026, with the platform, country and date, and no names.

How to read this
- Disclosure: Causality Engine sells a €99 read that competes with the tools named here. We chose which complaints to collect, so this page shows what went wrong for some buyers, not how most buyers rate a tool.
- The number of quotes per theme reflects what we found and checked, not how common each complaint is. Most of these tools score well overall; their published ratings are in the table at the end.
- Quotes are the reviewers’ own words, 35 words or fewer, checked word for word against the page on 4 November 2026. We give the platform, country and date, never names or handles. Trustpilot does not verify that reviewers were customers.
